To evaluate students for Special Education eligibilities and collaborate with other evaluators and campus staff to develop a plan of support.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree
Certification as a Diagnostician in the state of Texas
Special Knowledge/Skills:
None.
Experience:
Three years' experience in Special Education

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Evaluates students referred to special education.
Uses effective evaluation practices and completes written education assessment reports in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Coordinates with other special education evaluators and interprets evaluation results.
Assists campus Student Intervention Team to review information to help determine if a student needs to be evaluated for special education services.
Assists Student Intervention Team to develop appropriate interventions to allow students to benefit from regular classroom instruction to the greatest extent possible.
Coordinates with members of the ARD committee to monitor student progress and ensure that IEPs are appropriate.
Works in coordination with the ARD committee, revises IEP's when needed.
Works in coordination with other staff to assure accurate reporting of student accounting procedures that align with state and federal guidelines.
Maintains compliance with required timelines for evaluation reports and ARD committee meetings.
Provides training to campus staff on assessment and ARD procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times.
Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others.
Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.
Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress
Salary: Pay Grade PG02, $345.27 - $409.14 daily rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule. Days: 197
