Radiology Partners - Associate Vice President of Operations - Mammography Services


The AVP Operations is a key role within the organization. Entering the RP story at a time when its radiologists are being energized by the organization's overall investment and strategy, both the clinicians and the patients are experiencing revolutionary value creation in the midst of accelerating pressure on the industry as a whole to reform. Technology is playing a larger role in the value hypothesis and RP has made the upstream investments to deliver on critical needs of the clients. Our Client is seeking an Associate Vice President of Operations who will focus on leading a team of outstanding physicians and dedicated practice directors and teammates in order to deliver outstanding clinical value and service to our hospital and outpatient imaging center clients. The work that RP has done to partner with Rose Mammography has deepened their ability to attract some of the best physician specialists in the country. The ideal candidate must not only have experience managing a P&L and hitting revenue and expense goals, but must also be adept at cultivating and growing relationships with System and Client C-Suite personnel and leaders. A successful candidate must be able to manage multiple manager and director level direct reports over a broad geography, leading, mentoring and coaching them to work as a team. The position requires close work with not only Practice physicians, but also key physician referrers and senior hospital executives. The candidate will be a part of a dyad team with the local radiology practice's governing board (Local Practice Board) and practice chairman/president that will develop the strategic goals of the practice. Along with the practice directors, candidate will ensure that the local practice and nation practice goals are achieved.


Additionally, the AVP will work closely with the sales and business development teams in order to expand Radiology Partners presence across the states they are responsible for and oversee


Accountabilities


Operational Leadership


  • Build strategic relationships with clients and forge new business opportunities by thinking above the routine dimensions of transactional agreements
  • Inspire a team of Practice Directors and work closely with counterparts to ensure operational excellence and innovation across the Practice
  • Design plan, gain buy-in, launch, and optimize new service line specifically for breast imaging within Radiology Partners' Southwest area (16 Practices)
  • Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the Practice's operations
  • Continually research and introduce process improvement measures and present suggestions to the VP for consideration
  • Lead all areas of operations for assigned market(s), including client, customer, and physician issues
  • Create and execute a marketing and growth plan where needed and applicable to supporting RP's mission to “Transform Radiology”


Financial Leadership


  • Work with internal leaders to create annual budgets with an emphasis on being able to outperform expectations consistently
  • Partner with Practice Leaders, radiologists, and team to create and implement cost savings initiatives where applicable
  • Financial analysis and training responsibility for teaching and leading others through advanced P&L interpretation and translation to other members of the team
  • Actively participate in the strategic review and negotiations of existing and new contracts
  • Partner with Internal Market Development and Integrations teams to generate leads that ultimately lead to generative deal flow
  • Identify and present options for financial improvement to Senior Management


Client Leadership


  • Build and continuously strengthen relationships with client executives
  • Develop a regular cadence for bringing Operations, Client Administration, and Practice Leaders together to review outcomes and evaluate service levels against RP standards
  • Work with Practice Leaders to implement RP's easy-to-practice tools, including RP's proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) tool and other efficiency drivers


Critical Skill and History of Performance


  • Strong drive and motivation to rethink the prototypes of care and finance with a view to the patients best interest and the providers long term success
  • Deep knowledge of a physician services delivery model and demonstrated capacity to work with partner organizations/hospitals to deliver highest quality care for the patients
  • Easy to see pattern of disciplined focus on the KPI's for a team that led to overachievement in multiple categories on a consistent basis
  • Experience in healthcare services, preferably physician practice management or the design and delivery of patient/consumer based healthcare services offerings
  • MBA preferred, not required
  • 8+ years in healthcare services
  • Effective use of technology and teleconferencing to engage both RP team members and Clients effectively
  • 20-40% regional travel required
