This position provides hands-on and remote deskside support services to customers and support staff for issues or problems. The position performs moves, adds, and changes and documentation of equipment and software. The Network Specialist I will perform entry-level network tasks. Work involves assisting in implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of local area and wide area networks under close supervision.Essential Job Functions:Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule including possible after-hours and weekend support as required.Completes provisioning of workstations to new hires and assists with staff moves of equipment.Communicates with vendors, users, management, and network programming staff.Provides user support and training in the use of available hardware, software, and utilities.Assists in maintaining the local area and wide area network, cable management, and inventory of equipment.Assists in maintaining the network's physical and logical structures and in installing and testing hardware and software.Ensures documentation is kept up to date.Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:Current Valid Texas Driver's License.Knowledge Skills Abilities:Knowledge of network equipmentKnowledge of personal computer hardware and softwareKnowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office 365 productsSkill in customer serviceAbility to recognize, analyze, and resolve network related problemsAbility to manage multiple overlapping deadlinesAbility to communicate effectivelyInitial Screening Criteria:Graduation from high school or GEDExperience supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and above preferred but not requiredHigh volume customer service experience preferred but not requiredAdditional Information:Must have reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage and a valid Texas driver's license.Selected applicant must be able to move 30 pounds of computer equipment on a daily basis.Active Duty, Military, Reservists, Guardsmen, and Veterans:Military occupation(s) that relate to the initial selection criteria and registration or licensure requirements for this position may include those listed in this posting.
