College Summer Intern - (Undergraduate)

Internship period: June 2nd - August 1st

Shift Details: M-F 8/8:30am - 4:30/5:00pm

Program Overview:

Children's Health is committed to developing the next generation of diverse healthcare professionals in the Dallas community through our College Summer Internship Program. As part of this initiative, we will host undergraduate college interns in a 9-week paid internship. Offered through the Workforce Development department, the program allows college juniors and seniors to gain a real-world view into a career in health care by supporting host departments with relevant work and projects.

This is a full-time, 9-week position working Monday through Friday from 8/8:30am - 4:30/5:00pm.

Below are the participating host departments for summer 2025. Interns will be placed in one of the following areas:

Financial

  • HIM and Revenue Integrity: Optimizes charge capture processes, manages denials, and ensures regulatory compliance in revenue practices.


  • Location: Remote (Dallas)


Strategy

  • Information Services - Clinical Application: Supports and develops ServiceNow software, providing interns exposure to software development and project management.


  • Location: Remote (Dallas)


  • Information Services - Digital Engagement: Develops user-centric digital solutions, including mobile apps, intranet services, and patient portals, while fostering cross-department collaboration.


  • Location: Remote (Dallas)


External Relations

  • Marketing & Communications: Elevates brand awareness and delivers strategic communication initiatives, offering interns hands-on experience in campaign planning, media relations, and project management.


  • Location: Remote (Dallas)


Experience

Previous volunteer, intern or work experience is preferred.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Current enrollment in an accredited college program as Junior or Senior is required.
